A Romantic Meadow Brook Hall Wedding

Some wedding days have a little bit of everything: heartfelt moments, beautiful details, and a party that nobody wants to end. Lauren and Kevin's wedding at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan, was exactly that.

Planned by the wonderful Marissa of Marissa Daniella Events, the day was a beautiful balance of timeless elegance and genuine fun, with thoughtful details and plenty of unexpected moments that made the celebration uniquely theirs.

A Heartfelt Church Ceremony

The day began with a touching ceremony at a local church, surrounded by family and friends. It was an emotional start to the celebration, filled with meaningful glances, happy tears, and the kind of moments that remind me why I love wedding photography so much.

After the ceremony, everyone made their way to Meadow Brook Hall to continue the festivities in one of Michigan's most beautiful wedding settings.

Garden Cocktail Hour at Meadow Brook Hall

The garden at Meadow Brook Hall provided the loveliest setting for cocktail hour, complete with the cutest white umbrellas. Guests enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere before making their way into the reception, where the celebration continued.

I love when couples make the most of their venue and create different experiences throughout the day. Between the historic estate, the gardens, and the elegant reception tent, Meadow Brook Hall offered a beautiful backdrop for every part of Lauren and Kevin's wedding.

An Elegant White Reception

Inside the reception tent, beautiful white florals by J. Costello Design brought a timeless, romantic elegance to the space. The chic decor felt refined without being overdone, creating the perfect setting for a celebration centered around family, friends, and a whole lot of fun.

And the party certainly delivered!

The Chateau Band was incredible all night, keeping the dance floor full and the energy high. But the biggest surprise came when Lauren and Kevin joined the band on stage to sing and play along. Their guests were absolutely blown away!

I love when couples surprise their guests with something unexpected. These are the moments that make a wedding feel personal and unforgettable, and photographing the excitement as it unfolded was such a joy.

A Vintage Cake and a Family Heirloom

While guests were enjoying dinner, Lauren and Kevin slipped outside for a little private cake-cutting moment. Their adorable vintage-inspired white cake, created by Emily from Crumble Catering, was the sweetest addition to the evening. But what made it even more special was the topper: Lauren used her parents' original wedding cake topper.

I love details like this. Incorporating a family heirloom into your own wedding is such a beautiful way to honor the generations before you while beginning a new chapter together.

It was a sweet, intimate moment away from the excitement of the reception, and a lovely reminder that some of the most meaningful parts of a wedding happen quietly, in between everything else.

A Second Look and a Magical Moonlit Moment

Later in the evening, Lauren decided it was time for an outfit change, bringing two of her best friends along for the fun. We took the opportunity to capture a few photographs of the girls before Lauren headed back out to find her groom.

And then, the sweetest thing happened: she ran into Kevin unexpectedly.

His reaction to her new look was everything. He looked at her with stars in his eyes, completely surprised, and the moment unfolded naturally beneath the moon. It was romantic, spontaneous, and honestly, pure magic.

These are the moments I love most as a wedding photographer. No elaborate setup or forced poses, just two people completely caught up in the moment. I'll never forget the look on Kevin's face or the atmosphere of that little moonlit encounter.
