Carol's Daughter: Marula Curl Therapy Line Review

Hello Divas,

Hope all is well with you and your families!!! We are back with another review. So I went back to Carol Daughter's site to purchase this set. Darn you YouTube hahaha! No really its due to their awesome special emails that I get and must gravitate to the site. Kinda like click the ad and look around and see if anyone is looking at my shopaholic self. OMG...this is why I need a Savior!!! On a serious note. I really wanted to try this due to its conditioning aspects. I must say CD doesn't disappoint me. About 3 years ago, a couple of items I sampled some products and they were epic fails for my relaxed and then transitioning hair. With my new found education in natural hair, techniques, and a regimen. I realize I needed a whole line for my moisturizing wash days. Especially, during weather changes and humidity loving to fry my hair. Or I could be a product junkie in Denial. Either way, I was like a kid on Christmas day when my items came in.

This Marula line is medicinal to my heat wave days. When I mean my hair knows that it's getting loved, she acts completely helpless. Just so I can take these babies out to give her some attention. Bananas I know!!! One thing I know is, that giving your hair the love she deserves will help you see less bad hair days. Plus, she will show you how fierce she can be. With the proper attention and care, there is no style you wont be able to achieve any dsy of the week.

Can we be real people...Do you ever argue with your hair like it's a real Grown woman?!?!?!  Listen, when ya hair is getting that crunchiness to it like you use potato chips as a moisturizer. It's time to get on it. Girrrrrllllll!!!! That is why I always like to have a set regimen to get my hair pampered and the products she needs. I cannot over amplify this enough. Stop complaining about what your hair can't or won't do. If you stick to methods that work for her, and you treat her with unconditional love. Then the sky is the limit. That being said let's get into this review.

Here are my staples for a Moisturizing washing regime:
1. Marula Curl Therapy Gentle Cream Cleanser (sulfate-free) $18 8.5 fl oz

The smell is like walking through a rose garden!!! I felt like I was in one of those Herbal Essence commercials! Do you remember those? The marula and manuka ingredients in this shampoo is awesome to make detangling a dream and keeping your hair incredibly soft. It just glides in there taking over and not leaving the hair stripped AT ALL. Feels like shampoo and conditioner in one. If you are looking for a sudsy shampoo, I apologize for your loss cuz this ain't it. Unlike me, having been anti-shampoos for so long it has no bad effect on me or my hair. It truly is gentle and makes finger detangling quite easy. WAIT A MINUTE, Did this girl just say finger detangling with a shampoo. Yeaaaa exactly!!! I like how when you are rinsing and smoothing your hair under the water it already starts the curl clumping process. This gentle cleanser is great for a cowash and bunning. All you do is add a little gel on top and go. I've tried it and made running errands painless.

2. Marula Curl Therapy Softening Hair Mask $24 7 oz

I understand why this line doesn't have a conditioner separately. Both the Cleanser and this mask is so rich in its moisturizing properties that there isn't a need really. If you are all about the curls poppin game, then this is gonna be ya staple honey boo boo. (Hahaha!) Serious! I am falling in love with this mask  more and more each time I use it. On contact my curls are awake, alive and dancing from the water to the wind. I love using this mask when I know that I have no time to do a complete wash day due to a hectic week at work. or just because life happens and we al get lazy from time to time. Plus, it saves room in your gym bag. I just get in the shower satuarate my hair with water, apply this mask, finger detangle, rinse it out and go. I will then add some gel to the outside perimeters, ends and clip it up. In the morning, getting ready is a breeze just take down my scarf lay down my edges if need be. I mean this mask is a quick fix to everything. I have no complaints!!!

 3. Marula Curl Therapy Diffusing & Styling Lotion $20 5 fl oz

I like this lotion but I need to find a great gel to par it with. I love how defined my curls are with it from first application to mid week touchups. The only thing is that it is not humidity trained. I like how my hair feels at home but when I get outside it makes it soooo puffy. I am sure with the right pairing gel this will be awesome! I really want to try the new gel that came out recently from the Hair Milk line. I want to keep it in the family, you know! This lotion is great for a midweek refresher as well. As a leave-in this is in the rotation. It doesn't hold any other position for me. Also, tried using this as a barrier for me in the sauna at the gym. Now in this instance it works realllly well. If you are searching for a light-weight leave in that really defines the curls. Then I'd say holla at ya girl on this lotion.  All in all, there are many ways this comes in handy and can toss it in your bag.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Amodimethicone, Propanediol, Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Jojoba Esters, Isohexadecane, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Keratin, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Seed Protein, Honey (Mel) Extract, Cynara Scolymus (Artichoke) Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Polyquaternium-46, C11-15 Pareth-7, Polysilicone-15, Laureth-9, Quaternium-95, Oleth-10, Cystine Bis-PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Trideceth-12, Polysorbate 60, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Fragrance (Parfum), Aminomethyl Propanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phytic Acid, BHT, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sorbic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol

My ending notes are, that I would purchase the poo and mask for quick gym wash days. They are convenient enough to just drop one or both in your bag and go. The lotion is great and very versatile in ways to accompany it in your method of moisturizing your hair for styling. I gave you some ideas to try to incorporate it in. I always get questions about what perfume I am wearing. I always respond with, "Oh thank you, but its just my hair!" We as women are always busy always running around need to find quick fixes. Thanks to CD this line is it! Hands down! Wonders for the lazy friend in me, as well. I had a lady stalk me around the beauty aisles in Target to see what I was purchasing for my hair! I finally just gave in and said where she can find these beauties! She was so sweet though!

Getting It 2Getha with Wash Days!!!
