Carol's Daughter: Monoi Hair Repairing Collection Review

Hey hun,

Hope all is well with your spirit!!! Cuz I am about to jump right in this review. I am a hugeeeee fan of this hair line!!! There is nothing that I can negatively say about this hair line. Well, I guess I could talk about the fact it is only sold online. BUTTTTT I am too excited about my review. To bring you news that has been talked to death. So let's get to the goodies! The main reasons that I fell in love with this line is: the natural organic ingredients, black owned business (well at least it was), & all the products do what they ACTUALLY say they are going to do and smell soooooo freaking gooooood!!! I am a big advocate of products that has great lasting scents otherwise it ain't coming near my hair PERIOD!!! In all realness, it shows that the company is putting that extra thought in their products. Which in turns, puts their brand in a better light in the consumer's eyes, as well as their hearts.

When I am outdoors and the wind takes over my curls. Making them bounce with every whoooosh. I can smell the products that I have put in my hair (even if my wash day has long passed). If I can smell it GUESS WHAT people near me can too. Any curly natural haired girl can relate to this. Plus, when your significant other wants to cuddle or embrace you after a long day, that smell gets them more excited to being close to you. You never know if that smell makes them remember you during their day or not. I'm sure I am not the only one who loves hearing that from time to time. So awesome products equals a win win situation for everyone!!!

1. Monoi Repairing Sulfate-Free Shampoo $20  8.5 fl oz

I am absolutely in love with this Shampoo!!! I have been using the curly girl method for 2 1/2 years now and I have been pretty strict on myself. I didn't pretty much allow any type of bottled shampoo from any brands AT ALL. The reasoning behind this is because ever since I have been natural poos have made my really nice soft hair unmanageable, Brillo pad dry and (don't forget) matted. Especially, at the roots. So I vowed to NEVER put any type of shampoo on it. Until, YouTube won over my heart. I decided to try the trial sizes and give it try. It can't hurt and I wouldn't be wasting money and hoarding product for no reason.

So long story short, I was so skeptic that this would work that I applied conditioner over the rest of the hair and ends. (Just in case!) I rinsed it out and felt my scalp and new growth. I was so shocked at how soft, clean, and detangled my hair was. I was amazed but still skeptic. So I applied it again to the same section because I had been bunning my hair for 2 weeks straight and there was some build up from gel. That I wanted to make sure I got it all. This time around I didn't add any conditioner to the remaining of the hair.  Again, the outcome was the same and the rest of the hair felt just as soft!!! I couldn't believe it. My mother will be so proud that I finally found a shampoo that not only agrees with my hair but agrees with me. She never understood the whole conditioner only washing method. If yo are heavy handed with all your products, this poo might set ya hands straight for real. Hi, My name is Samantha and I agree with this message!

2. Monoi Repairing Conditioner $22 8.5 fl oz

Once I got over my shock, with the poo and I washed the other 3 sections!!! I moved on to the conditioner. At this point, my hair is basically detangled. Using the conditioner to finger detangle was a breeze on another wash day. No need for any other of my detangling tools  (Bye Bye shower comb). It made my curls pop and aided in smoothing my hair with no problem. I went back over my hair to make sure all the tangles are gone. Smoothing this stuff on really helps with clumping the curls together and giving it that gelled look without any gel. I still let it sit in my hair for a few minutes while I went over the other sections. You can never get over the smell of these products!!! After I did a final cool rinse, I could feel the difference in my hair. It felt healthier, stronger and there were less shedded hair on the shower walls. I can't say enough good things about this stuff.  I think this is the new creamy crack for real!!!

3. Repairing Hair Mask $32 7 oz

This mask right here...THIS MASK RIGHT HERE!!! They should change the name to BUTTA BABY!!! The mask doesn't have to stay on the hair long for you to see results. I used this mask both ways on dry and already shampooed hair. It truly is your choice. On dry hair: I sprayed my it first with aloe vera juice spray which I keep cooled in the fridge. As I am raking the mask in...It is already detangling my hair LIKE BUTTA!!! This is no match for tangles or knots because they don't stand a chance to this mask. I didn't even have to wait for it to sit in my hair for long. Read the label. I have was hunting and needed a good protein treatment badddd. My hair really can't stand humidity when it is at its peak. So I let it sit in my hair without heat for 30 minutes. My hair felt brand new!!! I didn't recognize her. She was detangled, smoothed to capacity and yet I haven't even put any other product in it. I mean there are no other words to describe this one day in heaven for wash day. I no longer need anything else in my life but CD!!! Bless ya heart gorgeous.

Final Thoughts

These three really work well together. Applying the products in was very manageable. They work really well either way. The shampoo and conditioner has a twisty cap to release the product very well. A little goes a long way for all three items. The reasoning is because the consistency of the products are very light and creamy. When you massage the product with your hands prior to working it in. It doubles the size you pour out. I really saw less hair on my shower wall. I'm sure I am not the only one who puts the shed hair on the wall. It helps avoiding the clogged drain disasters. I must say that using the mask on soaking wet hair can make you lose a lot of product because it won't stay on the hair. So after the conditioner was rinsed out. I would just smooth some water out before proceeding with the deep conditioner.I have fine thin hair and these 3 miracle workers gave it some life and body. On a windy day or while I'm in my car jammin' to music (yes, the windows are down) on my to work. My curls don't know how to act just bouncing to the rhythm lol!!! One last final note, In December Lisa appears on HSN for a 3 day long segment. She has demos, advice, and awesome deals. Plus its great to stock on these 3 items in their SuperSizes. Don't forget who reminded you first.

Stay Gettin' It 2getha!
